Using Appsero with Envato

Enabling licensing for Envato has become easy with Appsero.

To enable licensing for Envato by Purchase code follow the following steps:

  • Create an App on Envato
  • Integrate Envato with Appsero
  • Map the Plugin/Theme with Envato Project.

Basic Information

To add a new plugin, click on the Add New button. There you will find two options “Add Plugin” and “Add Theme“. Click on the “Add Plugin” button.

Now you have to click on “Yes, It’s a Premium Plugin” button.

Because it is a premium plugin, all the details have to be filled up manually. All the necessary data needs to be added. Check out what you need to add.

Available Fields

Plugin NameYesThe name of the plugin.
SlugYesSlug of the plugin. It will be generated automatically but you can change it. Note that you will not be able to update it later.
VersionYesThe version of the plugin. You will be able to add new version at the time of release.
Requires PHP VersionYesRequires PHP Version for the plugins.
Requires WordPress VersionYesWordPress version requires for the plugin.
Tested up toYesMaximum version of WordPress the plugin has been tested.
Homepage URLNoWebsite URL of the plugin. Put Website URL based on the hosted store. Put URL of the plugin, if it is hosted on
Demo URLNoDemo site URL of the plugin.
DescriptionNoGive a description of the plugin. This field is markdown supported.

Now, you can add the details in the fields.


Now, onto the Licensing part. Appsero will ask you a question, Whether you want to manage your plugin ‘s license through Appsero or not. Now, we recommend choosing “Yes;

Then you can use every feature of Appsero including Analytics, Licensing & Deployment. So it is recommended to select Yes.

You can choose “No” also. In that case, then you can only use the analytics part.

Configuring Envato

If you currently use Envato to sell your plugin/theme, then you need to click on Envato.

In the next screen, connect to your Envato account.

Create Envato App If you haven’t already and Connect with Appsero

To connect Appsero with Envato need a personal token. For personal token need to create an Envato app. To create an app click on the link. Create Envato App

Give a name for your app and accept terms and conditions. Then click on Create Token button. You will get a token. Save your token.

Add the token key from your Envato account and click on connect.

Now, after the successful connection, you need to Map Your project from your Envato account.

Next, Enable Envato and select the Item associated with the plugin. Hit Connect.

Get Started

After, Adding a plugin and Licensing now it is your turn to get started.

You will find an Installation Method section. You need to install an Appsero-Client plugin. You can do that in two ways.

  • Composer
  • Manual Installation

In the case of Composer, you need to use these below commands.

But in the case of Manual Installation, you need to download the Appsero-Client plugin.

Lastly, copy the Code Snippet generated for you into your main plugin file. Click Done to finish.

Double Check Envato Licensing using Purchase Code

To use Envato Purchase Code as the license key for all your users, you have to make sure you this feature is turned on.

  • Go to your plugin/theme’s Settings page.
  • Go to Licensing
  • Select Envato as a hosted site under Where It Is Hosted option
  • Select Use Envato Purchase Code as licensing system and make sure the toggle is turned on.

On the Integrations page connect Envato by your Envato personal token.

Start Verifying License with Envato Purchase Code

Once you have connected your plugin/theme with Envato and integrate Appsero SDK on your project, you can start verifying with Envato purchase codes.
