Introducing GitLab Integration & Appsero Notifications

Introducing GitLab Integration & Appsero Notification Center!

It’s here! GitLab to WordPress.org deployment is finally here!

Managing SVN repositories to release WordPress plugins? Well, with Appsero – you don’t have to. The world has moved to a Git-based workflow for all development tasks. Managing plugin/theme updates through SVN should be a DevOps task – not a regular developer’s task.

Maintaining a Git workflow, then transferring it to SVN, and finally push it again to WordPress.org – it is too much work. This release process is lengthy and time killing for most of the developers when they use SVN. You may know that you will need lots of time only for setting up and manage.

We are offering you a way where firstly, you need to just connect your Git account (Github/Gitlab/Bitbucket) and you can push plugin updates with command git commit && git push Tada! Your plugin is there for your users!

What You Can Do as a WordPress Developer with GitLab Integration

Appsero has been supporting Github, Bitbucket from the beginning. Today, I am glad to announce that we are also adding GitLab to Appsero. By adding GitLab, we are now supporting all major Git-based code collaboration and version control tools.

GitLab hosts more than 100K repositories and is completely open-source. Many WordPress developers prefer GitLab over Github and Bitbucket. We have heard them loud and clear. That’s why we have added GitLab integration today.

Introducing GitLab Integration & Appsero Notification Center! 1

The sole purpose of Appsero is to help WordPress theme and plugin authors in building their products better for their users. We want to help every developer, every marketer, every decision-maker out there to grow more.

Appsero offers more features that you possibly need to grow your product like a speeding rocket. Some of the most notable features are

  • Insightful User Analytics Data for your plugins/themes (deactivation reasons)
  • Complete License Management (Whether you use EDD/WooCommerce/Envato – we have got you completely covered)
  • Continuous Deployment (deploy directly from your Git account Github/Bitbucket to WordPress.org)
  • Deploy new updates to your verified Pro users with ease.
  • Deactivation Responder (Send an email to your users whenever they deactivate your plugin).

We want to empower every WordPress plugin and theme developers to turn their products into a growth engine by providing actionable insights.

We had been getting support requests to introduce GitLab to WordPress.org integration. Today, we have not only deployed GitLab for WordPress.org users, but you can also push updates to your premium users as well

You can go ahead and connect your project with GitLab and deploy it directly from GitLab to WordPress.org.

Should You Really Worry About SVN? Why not Git?

SVN is a thing of the past. The world has transitioned to a Git-based workflow. Managing SVN repositories is hard and it takes a lot of time. Why should you spend so much time on managing when you can push directly from Git to your users?

Up until now, WordPress developers had to rely on different scripts to maintain a proper Github to WordPress.org workflow. But now, you can deploy directly without wasting any minutes.

Appsero makes sure you are always more productive. Spend more time on coding, less time on managing.

One More Thing…

Apart from GitLab integration, we have also introduced a major feature inside Appsero. Appsero Notification Center!

The Notification Center is a complete framework for internal communications within Appsero that shortens the distance between our users and Appsero even further.

This will help us to provide useful notifications to our users. For example, you may get occasional product usage tips including different features. If you are using Appsero and have not added a plugin/theme or haven’t deployed your plugin with Appsero client yet – you should already see a notification here.

Where to Find the Notification Center

Specifically, here are the steps required:

Step 1: log in to your Appsero account.

Step 2: Click on the bell icon at the top right.

Step 3: Check the Notifications tab you’ll find on the right-hand part of your screen. Are you on mobile? You shouldn’t worry! As the Appsero dashboard is fully responsive, you’ll be able to see notifications even when accessing it through mobile devices.\

What’s Next?

In the near future, we are going to move most of our communication into the Notification Center to make communications with you as consistent as possible. Here’s where you can trigger it. For example, when you are done pushing an update through Git or create a release for your premium users – we will show you proper notifications in the notification center.

We are also going to announce the pricing of Appsero. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to be the first to know!

Cool, huh?
